St. Nicholas Church, Ustovo

A church from 1836 that was originally sunk into the ground, as the Ottoman authorities required at the time. In 1883 master builder Vasil Dimov from Yugovo rebuilt it into its present form. In front of the church stands a monument to Pop Gligorko, regarded as the first priest and teacher in Ustovo, and inside there is an icon of St. Nicholas believed to heal and an icon of Sts. Cyril and Methodius painted by Stanislav Dospevski in 1865.
