Golyam Perelik Peak

The highest peak of the Rhodopes, 2,191 m, and one of Bulgaria's Ten Mountain Summits. The summit itself is in a military zone and closed to visitors, but neighbouring Malak Perelik (2,147 m) is open, and its meadows look out over Smolyan and the Rhodope ridges. From the Prevala saddle about 5 km of asphalt and gravel road lead to Perelik Hut, from where the summit area is about an hour and 15 minutes on foot.
